Safari Settings

Before downloading any tarred or zipped distribution files with Safari, be sure to turn off "Open safe files after downloading" in the Safari preferences.

Otherwise, these files will be unpacked, which we don't want. The distribution files must be placed in the distfiles directory exactly as they exist on the WEB site. Ports verify checksums on the distribution files for security, and these checksums will change if you unpack and repack the file. ( Unless you use the exact same tools and settings as the original packer. )
