Research interests:
In the domain of cognitive neuroscience, I am currently using
cognitive models, along with functional magnetic resonance imaging
(fMRI, hence the pictures in the left hand column), to better
understand relationships between brain and language. More
specifically, I am interested in how semantic knowledge (such as
the meaning of words) is organized in and retrieved by the
brain.
My current postdoctoral advisor is Jeffrey R. Binder, M.D.
My graduate work at the University
of Iowa, Neuroscience Program, was
performed in the Laboratory of Computational
Neuroimaging, under the direction of
Thomas J. Grabowski, Jr., M.D. (currently the director of the Integrated Brain Imaging Center
at the University of Washington).
The title of my dissertation was
Distinguishing the Neural Bases of
Lexical Access.
